The weather here in Asheville has been so beautiful that I have been trying to think creatively when scheduling appointments. Case in point…Scott (from the new downtown Dripolator) agreed to meet me at the Asheville Botanical Gardens in order to take the written portion of his Counter Culture Coffee Barista Certification.

He passed (of course) and is well on his way to becoming the first Counter Culture Certified Barista in the Asheville area!
Information on the Counter Culture Certified Barista Program can be found here.
Just a reminder to all of you latte artists and enthusiasts out there, the last Thursday of every month, at 6:00pm, Greenville’s own Coffee and Crema hosts a Latte Art Hoedown. Come throw your apron in the ring, or just hang out and support competitors. For more info visit:

We have a tradition at Counter Culture Coffee: every Friday at 10 a.m., rain or shine, we stop and taste coffee together at our Durham, NC, headquarters and each of our regional training centers in Asheville, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Washington, DC; as well as with retail partners in Philadelphia and New York! We love to welcome our friends, customers, and families to these free coffee cuppings, and we welcome you, too.
